I saw a maiden (arr Edgar Pettman) - Guildford Cathedral Choir (Barry Rose)

Guildford Cathedral Choir, directed by Barry Rose: Carol Service at Guildford Cathedral, 25 December 1966: (A 15th-century carol from the Basque region of Spain. The melody is of folk origin, although the refrain is by Pettman) I saw a maiden sitten and sing, She lulled a child, a little Lording, Lullay, my dear son, my sweeting, Lullay, my dear son, my own dear dearling. This very Lord, he made all things, And this very God, the king of all kings. Lullay... There was sweet music at this child’s birth, And heav’n filled with angels making much mirth. Lullay... And angels sang to welcome the child Now born of a maid all undefiled. Lullay... Pray we and sing on this festal day That peace may dwell with us alway. Lullay...
