Swissminiatur is a Swiss miniature park , located in Melide , on the shores of Lake Ceresio , in the canton of Ticino . The park was founded by Pierre Vuigner and inaugurated on June 6, 1959. In 2019, it celebrated its first 60 years. It covers an area of ​​14,000 m², with over 129 models of Switzerland's most famous buildings and monuments, in 1:25 scale. For model railway enthusiasts , there is a network of 3,560 m of miniature railways that wind through the park, which is adorned with 1,500 plants and over 15,000 flowers.
