Village Life in the Carpathians | Digging a New Well, Harvesting & Preparing for Winter🍁

Welcome to our simple rural life in the Carpathian Mountains. 🍂 Our autumn day begins with hard work — father and son are chopping and stacking firewood, getting ready for the colder days ahead. Meanwhile, mom is working in the garden, harvesting carrots and beets and cleaning up the garden beds. Our son helps mom by carrying beet leaves to feed the pig and then helps sort the carrots and beets into boxes. But there is an important job waiting for father and son — our old well has dried up, so they go to the garden to dig a new well by hand and try to find water. While they are working outside, mom prepares homemade beet adjika for the winter and cooks dinner — delicious traditional cottage cheese gombovtsi. Later, our son discovers several beautiful birch bolete mushrooms in the garden and proudly shows them to his dad. 🍄 This is what an ordinary autumn day looks like for our family in a Carpathian village — hard work, harvesting, mushrooms, preparing food for winter, and finally coming together at home in the evening.
