Padam - Enthoru Mohana by Keiko Okano

“Enthoru Mohana” a beautiful poem which describes the beauty of nature. This is one of my favourite item I learned from my Guru Nirmala Paniker at Natanakaisiki / Natanakairali Gurukulam.. Poem is written by Guru Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma, known as mother of Mohiniyattam. This is an excerpt of Enthoru Mohana. Choreography by my Guru Nirmala Paniker Vocal Sri. Kalanilayam Prakasan When pandemic and first corona lockdown started, this was one item which I could relate to my surroundings, the rich greenery nature in Kerala. Sudden social distance and staying home gave me a chance to look more into nature in village life. I could see so many trees, flowers, creepers, birds, peacocks, insects, snakes.. etc in tropical nature.. I was healed by them and I could appreciate more.. When I dance this item, practicing in Natanakairali with young students.. Nirmala teacher taking talam infront of us.. girls singing so lovely and so soothing into ears.. in the hot weather.. that image flash backs.. shot on September 26, 2021 in Kerala
