Try The Spirit

Not everything that sounds spiritual is of God. Scripture warns us about false prophets, false doctrines, seducing spirits, worldly philosophies, and even our own thoughts and desires that can lead us away from the truth. In today’s lesson, “Try the Spirit,” we examine the importance of testing what we hear, what we believe, and even what we think against the Word of God. We cannot simply accept something because it sounds good, feels right, is popular, or comes from someone claiming to speak for God. The Word of God must remain our standard. We must be sober, vigilant, spiritually discerning, and willing to allow the Word to cleanse and renew our minds.
