Episode 009 – Learning the Scrap Trailer | 1,320 lbs Later

This episode is a little longer and moves at a different pace than some of my earlier scrap runs. I'm still learning how I want to use the trailer—where everything should go, the best way to organize the load, how to tie everything down properly, and what works (or doesn't work) as the trailer starts filling up. Rather than cutting all of that out, I wanted to document the process. We start the route in 109° Las Vegas heat and pick up everything from a grill and shower metal to garage door parts, chains, wire, a water heater, ceiling fans and more. Along the way, I reorganize the trailer, scout some new territory, break down a microwave, and continue figuring out a better workflow with the new setup. By the time we hit the scrap yard, the load comes in at 1,320 lbs—and I finally get an answer to a couple of those scale mysteries I've been wondering about. Still learning. Still experimenting. That's part of the fun.
