September Rain (Digitalis)

A song about the first rain in September. September Rain (Digitalis) lyrics by Scott Watson The sky turns grey without a sound First drops are falling to the ground Summer's heat just melts away Everything has changed today Puddles form on empty streets Rain and concrete softly meet Something shifts inside the air New beginnings everywhere September rain, September rain Washing clean what can't remain September rain, September rain Gently tapping on the window pain It comes and goes and comes again September rain The leaves begin to fade and turn Flowers bow as if to learn Nature knows it's time to rest Trading green for gold is best Windows fog with misty glass Watch the summer seasons pass Something shifts inside the air Autumn whispers everywhere September rain, September rain Washing clean what can't remain September rain, September rain Gently tapping on the window pain It comes and goes and comes again September rain Let it fall, let it pour The heat of summer is no more Feel the change, feel it grow Life is moving, letting go September rain, September rain Washing clean what can't remain September rain, September rain Gently tapping on the window pain It comes and goes and comes again September rain Copyright Scott Watson 2026 May not be used without permission.
