A home monitor can display a blood pressure-related number without providing the evidence needed for a clinical decision. That is the central buying risk. Blood pressure, NIBP, blood pressure trend, cuffless measurement, and continuous monitoring do not necessarily describe the same function. They may rely on different sensors, calculations, calibration procedures, and intended uses. A conventional automated upper-arm monitor uses an inflatable cuff to detect pressure oscillations as the cuff deflates. An algorithm estimates mean arterial pressure and derives systolic and diastolic values, normally reported in millimeters of mercury. A cuffless system may instead analyze optical pulse waves, timing signals, force, or another physiological surrogate. A trend feature may show movement relative to a personal baseline without establishing the accuracy required for diagnosis. Reference: https://www.industrysavant.com/2026/0...
