I’ve been experimenting with a sound that brings together poetic lyrics, Nordic deep house and techno, folklore-inspired instruments, and elements inspired by the sounds and atmosphere of pre-Hispanic Mexico. I’m not trying to recreate any traditional style. I’m more interested in what happens when these influences meet electronic music, deep bass, hypnotic rhythms, organic instruments, and a lot of space for the lyrics to breathe. The songs are often about nature, dreams, longing, transformation, love, and the strange feeling of being somewhere between the ancient and the futuristic. These are drafts, experiments, and evolving pieces as part of an ongoing journey to create a sound that feels both ancient and futuristic.
