Why Highly Intuitive People Change After 40 — Carl Jung Psychology
Why do highly intuitive people often seem completely different after 40?
Carl Jung’s psychology offers a fascinating way to understand what can happen when intuition, life experience, shadow work, relationships, boundaries, and self-awareness begin working together.
When you’re younger, intuition can easily feel like overthinking, emotional sensitivity, anxiety, hesitation, people pleasing, or constantly second-guessing yourself. You may sense that something is wrong but have no idea whether you’re noticing a real pattern or projecting your own fears onto the situation.
But as experience grows, something can change.
Pattern recognition becomes sharper. Relationships reveal repeating behaviors. Approval seeking loses some of its power. Boundaries become stronger. And intuition can become more grounded because you finally learn when NOT to trust every feeling that appears.
In this video, we explore Carl Jung psychology, Jungian psychology, intuition, highly intuitive people, shadow work, the shadow self, individuation, the unconscious mind, midlife psychology, the second half of life, emotional sensitivity, overthinking, relationship patterns, people pleasing, approval seeking, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, personal growth, inner work, and psychological transformation.
You’ll discover why intuition is not the same as certainty, how anxiety can imitate intuition, why relationships train pattern recognition, how the shadow can distort your instincts, why boundaries change the way intuitive people experience others, and how the need for approval can interfere with your inner judgment.
We also explore one of the most important Jungian ideas: individuation — the gradual process of becoming psychologically more whole instead of living entirely through the identity, persona, expectations, and roles you developed earlier in life.
The deeper idea is simple:
Intuition may not necessarily become stronger with age.
It may become more accurate because experience teaches you which signals deserve attention, which feelings come from fear, which reactions come from projection, and when you simply don’t have enough information yet.
