Alongside Behula’s ancient journey, the story follows a woman of the present day as she faces social barriers, superstition, misogyny, harassment, and attempts to shatter her dreams. Two eras... Two women... Two different struggles. Yet, the language of victory remains the same - courage, love, education, and humanity. In this story, “poison” is not merely the venom of a serpent. Sometimes, poison takes the form of superstition. Sometimes, it is disrespect. Sometimes, harassment. And sometimes, the narrowness of the human mind. And Behula’s journey is not merely a journey upon the river, it is a metaphor for the long journey of every woman who continues to protect her dreams, even while navigating the currents of adversity.
