Armed with my Canon M50 and 16mm prime lens, I set out before dawn to capture the soft light of sunrise along the dramatic coastal horizon. Despite a slow, almost wasteful start to the day, the mood shifted as the golden hour bathed the old wooden structure and wind-swept beach in cinematic tones. Later, I explored Cuxhaven Harbour, where — by complete chance — I stumbled across a hidden WWII-era bunker tucked away in the industrial edge of the docks. 🎥 Unfortunately, my drone footage was lost due to a technical issue, but the ground-level perspective captures the essence of this forgotten moment in time. About the Location: Kugelbake (meaning “ball beacon”) is a historic maritime navigation aid built from timber, dating back to the 18th century. It once marked the point where inland navigation ended and open-sea travel began. Today, it's a symbol of Cuxhaven — a coastal town in Lower Saxony, northern Germany. Cuxhaven has long served as a strategic location, from imperial naval history to its role in World War II.
