This 1930s Diamond Point Challenger came to the bench needing a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration. In this video, I bring this vintage lever-filling fountain pen back into working condition while preserving the character it picked up over nearly a century. See this pen and other restored vintage fountain pens at The Restoration Ledger: https://therestorationledger.com The restoration included disassembly, cleaning, polishing, installing a new pressure-bar, installation of a new ink sac, reassembly, and final writing tests. The goal with every Restoration Ledger project is the same: make the pen dependable enough to use again without erasing the history that makes it interesting in the first place. Diamond Point is one of those vintage American fountain pen brands that doesn’t get the same attention as Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman, or Wahl-Eversharp — which is part of what makes these pens fun to restore.
