October 8, 2005 — The Day I Can Never Forget | Kashmir Earthquake

October 8, 2005 is a day I can never forget. I witnessed the devastation of that morning with my own eyes. A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Azad Jammu & Kashmir and parts of Pakistan, leaving a level of destruction and grief that is impossible to erase from memory. More than 70,000 people lost their lives, thousands were injured, countless families lost their homes, and entire communities were changed forever. The earthquake particularly devastated areas of Azad Kashmir and northern Pakistan. In this live, I want to remember those who lost their lives, share what I personally witnessed, and reflect on the lessons this tragedy left for all of us. This is not just a story from history. For those of us who witnessed it, October 8, 2005 remains a living memory. We remember the victims. We remember the families. We remember the communities. And we remember the day that changed Pakistan forever. May Allah grant Jannah to all those who lost their lives and give strength and patience to their families.
