SURPRISE SWITCH: Lions Use Keith Abney at Safety, Defense SILENCES Arizona in Big Win

Detroit Lions shake up their defense with a bold move—and rookie Keith Abney seizes his moment at strong safety in a blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Can this newfound versatility propel the Lions to the top of the NFC North, where every team currently boasts a winning record? Host Matt Dery spotlights Abney’s unexpected start, key contributions from Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta, and pivotal adjustments by Kelvin Sheppard and Dan Campbell. The episode unpacks Pro Football Focus grades, crucial injury updates—including the season-ending setback for punt returner Tom Kennedy—and the emerging locker room culture shaping Detroit’s identity.
