A Day in Rural Japan | Ouchi-juku, Oya Quarry & Utsunomiya Gyoza

Today we're leaving Aizu and driving south toward Tokyo, with a few stops along the way. We start the morning in Ouchi-juku, an Edo-period post town in the Fukushima mountains where thatched-roof houses still line the main street, then stop at the tower-like cliffs of To-no-Hetsuri before continuing south to Utsunomiya. The afternoon takes us underground at the Oya History Museum, a huge old stone quarry that feels like a film set, and the day ends with gyoza in Utsunomiya.
