This is the last (out of five) improvisation from the recording session I did around 2 weeks ago now. Instead of focusing on a concept, or something that was happening around me I decided to think about a memory for this one. It's not a memory I have myself, however it is something that I imagined and put together from fragments of my experiences. I envisioned a childhood memory of a living room with a tall grandfather clock in it, towering over everything else in the room. And afterwards I imagined a "new memory" - of the colour of the grandfather clock itself, of how the paint has blistered over the years, peeling off and having fallen off completely in certain places where the wood has also lost its hue from how long it has been exposed. This vivid image of something that never even happened, at least to me, left me with a deep feeling of longing, so I decided to dedicate this improvisation to it. The painting I used for the cover was drawn by John Quinton Pringle.
