The Greatest Guitar Solos Ever Recorded, Ranked

A great riff gets your attention. A great solo takes your breath away. In this episode of Rock Catch, we count down 10 guitar solos that didn't just decorate a song they redefined it. From Brian May turning a six-minute opera into something you could sing along to, to Jimi Hendrix bending reality itself on "Voodoo Child," these are the moments guitarists still study note by note, decades later. Ritchie Blackmore's classical fury on "Highway Star." Randy Rhoads channeling something otherworldly on "Mr. Crowley." David Gilmour's two minutes of "Comfortably Numb" that somehow say more than most songs say in four. This is the list every guitarist argues about, so let us know where we got it wrong.
