In Full Bloom April 2026 Pt1

Welcome to the April edition of In Full Bloom—a look at what’s showing off right now in the garden, from fresh spring color to foliage that earns its keep. This month, the garden is really starting to wake up. From the soft glow of At Last Rose and the buttery blooms of Julia Child Rose, to bold color from Superbena Cobalt and Supertunia Pink Tiara, there’s no shortage of impact. You’ll also see structure and texture coming through with plants like Kaleidoscope Abelia, Dolce Spearmint Heuchera, and emerging Sedum. We’re highlighting a mix of reliable performers and seasonal standouts including: Augusta Lavender Heliotrope White Gaura Perfect Profusion Salvia Midnight Oil Bee Balm Blue Bubbly Baptisia Delphinium Shasta Viburnum Cat's Pajamas Catmint This series is all about documenting the real-time progression of the garden—what’s thriving, what’s surprising me, and how color is being carried throughout the space. If you’re looking for inspiration on layering color, choosing long-performing plants, or just want to see what’s blooming in a Zone 8 spring garden, you’re in the right place. 🌱 Thanks for being here and growing along with me!
