I went to Fayette City, a former coal area located in Fayette County Pennsylvania. Here's what I saw. Fayette City has a population of just 479 people as of 2025, and that's down from a height of 2018 back in the 1920's. This place had 20 coal mines, a ferry on the river, and railroads built back in the late 1890's early 1900's. With the industrial era over, combined with The Great Depression and coal mines shutting down, what's left is an area that has never truly recovered. The poverty level is 23%, amenities are very few, and commutes are long. Crime is about 17% higher than the national average as well. Let's take a drive and check it out. This is for documentary and educational purposes. ►Join my community for exclusive members only content:    / @hoodsnhollers
