UBC Basketball presents 'Courtside'

In 1948 we were gifted permission to become "Thunderbirds", and in 2016 we brought together more Thunderbirds than ever before at our Homecoming Football game with more than 7,800 attendees. Our momentum didn't stop there. We dove in 2017 with hearts full of pride and made Winter Classic the highest attended Thunderbird hockey game in UBC history. We sold out the entire arena with 5,036 Thunderbirds all decked out in blue and gold. You helped us make history UBC and we're ready to do it all over again, but this time with a few less layers and a lot more noise at War Memorial Gym for our 2nd annual Courtside Basketball games. UBC's rowdiest & loudest basketball game is back and bigger than ever. Our mission: to pack War Memorial Gym with screaming fans, we haven't heard this much noise in there since the Beach Boys played this venue in 1973. Secure your seat at the Women's game tipping off at 6pm and watch Canada West leading scorer Maddison Penn, followed by the number 2 ranked Men's team led by the nation's leading scorer Conor Morgan jumping into action at 8pm. The court action wraps up by 9:30pm but the Thunder continues all night at our official after party (details coming soon). It's the perfect start to everyone's weekend tomfoolery.
