This Is The Finest' (Soulful Jazzy AI Cover) Mario Biondi & SOS Band AI Cover

A soulful, jazzy AI cover blending the unmistakable baritone of Mario Biondi with the smooth R&B grooves of The S.O.S. Band. This track is an AI cover of the legendary mashup "This Is The Finest," originally masterminded by Neil Thompson & Shaun Gallagher. This AI Cover is a heartfelt tribute to the artists, producers, and the original mashup creators who brought these two worlds together. This mashup seamlessly weaves together two classics: Mario Biondi – "This Is What You Are" (from the album Handful of Soul) https://mariobiondi.bandcamp.com/albu... The S.O.S. Band – "The Finest" (from the 1986 album Sands of Time) https://open.spotify.com/track/63DTXK... The Original Mashup: First previewed online on September 29, 2009, this blend was popularised after being featured by DJ Chris Hill at the Caister Soul Weekend. Producers Neil Thompson & Shaun Gallagher created a masterpiece that remains a staple in the UK soul and jazz-funk scene. Both Neil and Shaun remain active today, performing and producing in the UK house, soul, and jazz-funk genres. Mario Biondi: The Italian soul-jazz singer released "This Is What You Are" on his debut album Handful of Soul (2004/2006). Biondi continues to tour internationally in 2026, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his breakout hit. The S.O.S. Band: Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, the group formed in 1977. Their hit "The Finest" was written and produced by the legendary Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The band is still active today, touring with a lineup led by original member Abdul Ra'oof. Mary Davis (Lead Vocalist): We honor Mary Davis, whose voice defined The S.O.S. Band's biggest hits. After suffering a stroke around 2021, she stepped back from heavy touring and retired from the band lineup around 2023. She now manages her legacy through The Mary Davis Experience, occasionally sharing unreleased archival soul recordings. The city of Atlanta officially proclaimed January 19 as "SOS Band Day." The band continues to perform live on stages like the Soul Train Cruise. This AI cover has been created as a tribute to Mario Biondi, The S.O.S. Band, their production teams, and to Neil Thompson & Shaun Gallagher who masterminded the original mashup.
