Cwm Treweryn Loop

Welcome. This is a hike which is just under 9 miles long starting from the village of Crai in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The walk is a lovely loop around Cwm Treweryn climbing Fforest Fach at 382m and the wonderful hillfort of Twyn y Gaer. There are extensive views during the hike which follows good bridleways and right of ways which are well marked. We did encounter a few hundred yards of very overgrown ferns as you will see in the video on one section whilst descending into Cwm Clydach but we were fine and most of the year this will not be a problem for walkers. We were still able to follow the path. These shorter and smaller outlying hills of which there are many scattered around the National Park are just as good to climb as the higher and bigger more well known peaks in the Beacons, so i urge you to go and explore you won't be disappointed. I enjoy walking up Munros, Corbett, Hewitts and Nuttall hills/mountains. I am currently trying to complete my second round of the Welsh Hewitts these are the 138 2000 foot mountains in Wales. I am regularly inspired by other You Tube walking channels which give me ideas on places to hike, i simply want to do the same.
