【ストーリー / Story】 丹生津姫絵巻を目撃した伊賀同心名張信蔵は 謎の山伏一統に襲われ、危機一髪、猫と名乗る男に救われる。 老中水野和泉守に呼び出された信蔵は熊野の 秘境安羅井の里の探索を命じられる。やがて信蔵は、 平家落武者の末裔である安羅井の里人が永年に亘る 異国との抜け荷取引で莫大な財宝を隠匿していることを探り当てる。 俄かに隠密、剣鬼が入り乱れ、 幕府と紀州藩もこの財宝奪取に血道を上げ…。 Iga Doshin Nabari Nobuzo witnesses a picture scroll of Princess Niutsu and is attacked by a mysterious band of mountain priests, only to be saved at the last moment by a man who calls himself Neko. Summoned by the old lieutenant Mizuno Izumi-no-mamoru, Nobuzo is ordered to explore the unexplored region of Anrai no Sato in Kumano. Nobuzo soon discovers that the villagers of Anrai, descendants of fallen Heike warriors, have been hiding vast treasures from the foreign powers for many years. Suddenly, the Shogunate and the Kishu Clan are in hot pursuit of this treasure... as covert operatives and sword demons get into the mix.
