GizzyKittyMusic - When The Wind Stood Still

So it's been a while... again... I've still been writing music and have been genuinely enjoying doing so, but I've mostly just been doing it for myself. I didn't want to ruin that by making myself anxious about what other people think, and as a result, have recently decided to keep most of it to myself. I've also changed the way I make music, mostly writing relaxing piano pieces using standard notation as opposed to trying to orchestrate in a DAW, and I honestly think I prefer it. This means that what I write from now on will probably be much simpler, focusing more on technical aspects like dynamic changes, time manipulation, and more interesting harmony focused around the limitations of solo piano. I do still want to share what I write from time to time, so I'll likely be sharing my personal favorites from now on. For example, I very recently started trying to watch all of the original Studio Ghibli films, starting with the one I remember watching when I was little, Ponyo. Immediately after rewatching, I was inspired to write a piece reflecting the feeling I got from watching it again. Part of the way through making it, I also watched My neighbor Totoro which managed to sneak its way into the piece as well. This is genuinely my favorite thing that I've written in a while, so I'd thought I'd share it here. Enjoy 🙂
