Johan Castberg FPSO heading home

It's 313 metres long and 55 metres wide – the size of three football fields. If you were to weigh the Johan Castberg FPSO you would reach 88,000 tonnes. It’s our largest floating production, storage and offloading installation (FPSO) in Norway and it’s brand new! On 21 August 2024 the FPSO started the journey from the west coast of Norway, where it has been completed, to the field way north in the Barents Sea – close to 1000 nautical miles. The FPSO can produce 220,000 barrels/day at plateau and store 1.1 million barrels. The field is expected to come on stream towards the end of 2024.
