Watch my brother Mohan and I presenting Kalpana swarams in two ragams at the same time using the grahabedam (moorchana) technique. The song Sadaa is in the ragam Shekhara Chandrika (S R1 G2 M2 D1 N3 S - S N3 D1 M2 G2 R1 S). We have interpreted the Da of this ragam as the Sa, thus arriving at Kadyutha Ganthi (S R3 G3 M1 P N2 S - S N2 P M1 G3 R3 S). The swarams are sung in both ragams. The original song, composed by Agnee for the Marathi film, Shala, featured all three of us in the family. Mohan had sung the male version, I had sung the female version, and our mother Smt Vasantha Kannan had played violin in both versions.
