Is fragrance content getting… boring?
I love perfume. I love discovering new brands, sampling weird fragrances, learning about perfumers and finding scents I’ve never heard anyone talk about. But lately, I feel like fragrance content has become the same Top 10 lists, the same viral perfumes and the same new releases being recommended over and over again.
With SO many indie, niche and artisan perfume houses creating interesting fragrances, why does the fragrance community sometimes make this massive art form feel so small?
Today we’re talking about PR hype, viral perfumes, repetitive recommendations, FragranceTok, the endless new-release cycle, why fragrance reviews have started feeling less trustworthy to me—and what I desperately want to see more of from fragrance content.
And yes, I fully recognize the irony that I am a fragrance creator who also makes lists and talks about new releases 😂 This isn’t about shading individual creators. It’s about something I’ve been feeling as both a fragrance content creator AND a viewer.
So I want to hear from you: Are you bored with fragrance content too? What perfume content do you actually want to watch? And PLEASE tell me about the weird, obscure, under-the-radar perfume you think more people need to know about.
Let’s make fragrance weird again.
