Photographing Reef Mantas

This trip to Hanifaru Bay in the Maldives was centred on photographing the Reef mantas that aggregate here to feed on the plankton rich waters. From mid-May until December the reef acts like a funnel, filling up with plankton, attracting hundreds of manta rays to feed. We stayed on the nearby island of Dhonfanu, hosted by @fehivelaa-dive and we could not have picked a better outfit for the job. Our guide was Hussain, a ranger in the marine park, and he was brilliant at getting me in the right place at the right time.
