Solo wild camping in the Lake District, silent hiking from Buttermere to Robinson and Hindscarth before spending the night alone on a remote summit high above the Western Fells.
No talking. No music. No distractions. Just the mountains, the wind and a night wild camping high above Buttermere.
🥾 SILENT HIKING & WILD CAMPING IN THE LAKE DISTRICT
Join me for a peaceful silent hiking and solo wild camping adventure in the Lake District National Park, following a beautiful mountain route from Buttermere through the Western Fells to Robinson and Hindscarth.
Starting from the iconic village of Buttermere in Cumbria, I leave the valley behind and climb into the mountains for a day of solo hiking, backpacking and Wainwright bagging.
The route takes me through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Western Lake District, away from the busier trails and into increasingly remote mountain terrain.
Eventually I reach Robinson, one of Alfred Wainwright’s Western Fells, before continuing across the mountains towards Hindscarth.
⛺ WILD CAMPING ON HINDSCARTH
As daylight begins to fade, I reach Hindscarth and find somewhere high on the mountain to pitch my tent.
With everything I need carried in my backpack, I settle in for a peaceful solo summit wild camp in the Lake District, surrounded by mountains and incredible views across the Western Fells.
This is wild camping at its simplest.
No talking.
No music.
Just footsteps on the trail, wind across the mountains and the experience of spending a night alone in the Lake District fells.
