What happens next is a full recovery I did not expect to pull off. 🦫 I am playing the Iron Teeth faction in Timberborn, and this episode is the recovery arc from last time's total food collapse. I start with two adults and one child, no priority system I can find, and a breeding cocoon slowly filling back up. Berries and kabies (kohlrabi) keep the population fed while children grow into adults one by one, and for a long stretch every single birth feels like it could tip the balance either way. As the colony grows past four, five, six adults, I start rebuilding storage, laying out lumberjacks and gatherer flags, and running a power shaft out to a beaver-operated water wheel because I need planks and nothing gets built without them. Two badwater lakes sit right at the edge of my map, and I spend a chunk of this episode routing floodgates and levees to keep the toxic water away from my crops before the next event hits. 💧 A drought warning shows up almost as soon as I am stable again, so I race to finish an unfinished dam section left over from episode one.
