An offshore drilling platform has broken into the home of an ancient deep-sea creature, and the monster that comes ashore hunts by sound, so every machine, siren and voice becomes a danger. Marlon realizes his own powerful transmitter is the loudest thing on the coast, and he keeps broadcasting anyway, guiding terrified callers through the night: a trawler captain adrift at sea, a nurse keeping patients breathing by hand, a teenage ham radio girl, and his nephew trapped on the platform. When he finds that high-power radio waves hurt the creatures, the survivors gather in a safe zone around his tower. An old woman then reveals the town's secret: for two centuries it sang a lullaby, "the Hush," to the sea creature's child, until the foghorn was shut down and the drilling woke it. The song calls the child's giant mother, but it also draws hunters and a silent creature that swallows sound. The whole town sings a final farewell song, the "Parting," to drive it off. The old woman dies holding the last note, the mothers take the child home, and the town survives. The story ends with the tower singing the lullaby every midnight, while something far older at the bottom of the trench starts to listen. 📌All Unpublished episodes : You're Listening to the Radio, During the Great Famine :   / youre-listening-170373720   You're Listening to the Radio, During Sinkhole Crisis :   / youre-listening-168319961   You're Listening to the Radio, During the Sentient Flora Apocalypse:   / youre-listening-168106211   You're listening to the Radio, During the Collapse of the Power Grid   / youre-listening-168021266   You're listening to the Radio, During Network Apocalypse   / youre-listening-167866259   You're Listening to the Radio, During a Deep Sea Monster Attack   / youre-listening-167652444   You're Listening to the Radio, During a Flesh-Eating Virus Outbreak   / youre-listening-167487029   You're Listening to the Radio, During the Sentient Flora Apocalypse   / youre-listening-168106211   Playlist :    • Apocalypse Radio ⛈   Disclaimer: This is a purely fictional story created for entertainment purposes only.
