You clicked for sleep. The monk wants to know what you're still waiting for.
You keep telling yourself that once this is done - the debt, the promotion, the next thing - you'll finally rest. You're still waiting for the day your real life starts, and some nights it feels like it never will. But there is another way.
In this reflection, Master Wu Wei names the story you were handed as a child - that one more staircase will finally be the last one - and explains Wu Wei, the Taoist idea of acting without forcing. Using the river and the stone, he shows there is no finish line to reach, only this moment to live in, and he ends by walking you gently down into sleep.
There is no finish line, not one.
In this reflection:
Why the story of "one more step" was never going to end
What Wu Wei really means, and why it is not laziness
What the river and the stone can teach you about your own days
Why the empty center of the wheel matters more than the spokes
Where, in the last hour, you were already alive without noticing
What have you been waiting for, without noticing it was already here?
Tell the monk in the comments - and subscribe if you'd like him to meet you again tomorrow night.
