Now, this is not me spitting on the (beloved) profession of Solution Consultant (best years of my professional life); Of course it is a vendor's job to showcase their product at its absolute best. YOUR job as a buyer is to find out what it looks like in your conditions, with your data, against your actual problem. And almost nobody does this rigorously enough.
