Van life in Midlife- A Reset Before My Kids Move Away

Nature has a way of making big feelings feel more manageable, so I packed up the van and Charlie and headed to one of Florida's most underrated parks. My son and daughter move away in 2 weeks. Coincidentally, at the same time. This van trip to Myakka River State Park was me trying to process it, and get more comfortable with living in the van. This one has a bit of everything: gators (a lot of them), a treetop canopy walkway, and a 75-foot tower that had me trembling the whole way up. There's a quiet night getting ready for bed in the van, a peaceful morning lake hike with more birdsong than I could keep up with, and a version of me at the end who is clearly in a different headspace than the person who showed up.
