NYIIFV (ITN distribution), they did the R rated Popeye, Winnie The Poo and Mickey Mouse horror movies). Then later I was blessed to win the HBO MAX sponsored UASE Award for the animated version I did of Ravedactyl & Justice. Also Doesn't Elemental Hero BubbleMan look like Batman? I Wonder if DC Comics had a secret battle over it behind the scenes? ...Hmmm. Wish I could talk about about stuff but confidentiality agreements make it hard to speak freely. Also the amount of the suit was not actually anything more than just stating the amount they made off the use of that character's series that year. When defending the rights of your character/IP, it's a necessity to automatically put in the claim the amount they made which is the amount in question being sued over, plus they have to issue a cease and desist in order to bring a legal claim while the information is presented,then it ended once the settlement and case was resolved with just a small amount to help cover some bills and a few months of rent. When this info was found and released a few days ago by YuGiOhWind (I think the users name is), so I am replying to the fans and they deserve to know the truth and I am sad Konami ignors them from what many have said online, and I LOVE the creator of YuGiOh and we have no idea which team member actually made their version of the character. Also, PROOF I didn't stop them from continuing to release the character is that they even re-released it in 2011 again according to many fan's posts. I would love to see both our characters do a crossover or something fun! I'm open and hope they will be too. I replied because I think fans deserve to the know the truth. Both sides are peaceful and agreed and I do not blame the artist, I do think the multimillionaire corporation and their lawyers are who you should be actually wondering why they don't reply to fans and release it again since they can anytime which has nothing to do with me. If you copyright a design you create and let a huge company put it out, then they can turn around and sue you when you release your character for copyright infringement if you don’t defend your design first then you can lose the original design elements which could make them not copyrightable. Like a black mask, cape, and Egyptian outfits are not copyrightable elements. We had tables next to each other at NY Comic Con. Imagine you created a character, showed it to a multi-million dollar company and then within a year you see them release a similar looking version of it, you call lawyers to find out what rights you have and then are informed you could lose the right if you don’t defend it. I’m not a lawyer but you get the gist. Also lawyers have to put the amount the company earned off that character to open the suit, that is not the actual amount in reality. If a company earns 70 million then lawyers open the suit for the same amount they earned. As mentioned the settlement amount when the case closed only covered bills for a few months but I got to keep my rights to my designs! I protected my creation. Even if some fans misunderstand me or think whatever they wish, either way I actually am glad the fans care about this because it is what keeps the world of anime, comics, manga and art alive! I never stopped them from continuing the release their version of the character and I would LOVE to see us both do a cross-over or something fun with the characters together or just give the fans what they want. I just want to make people smile. My best.
