FUNERAL SERVICE | IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE CHARLES KORIR

The late Charles Korir was born on 26 January 1975 at Kipsimbol village (Kamuguleya), Kipsimbol sublocation of Gelegele location in Sotik sub-county, Bomet County. th He was the fourth-born child of the late Nicholas Soi and Grace Soi. He was brother to Johana Korir, Mary Tonui, Christine Cheruiyot, Josephine Sakina Chepngeno, Wencess Korir, Vincent Korir, Benedette Rotich, Wilfrida Chebet, Everline Soi, and Aloys Korir. He was half-brother to Agnes Cheruiyot, Albert Korir, John Korir, Dr. Marceline Rotich, Patrick Korir, Jane Tonui, Irene Too, Priscilla Maritim, Moses Korir, Dominic Korir and Isaac Korir, as well as Hilda Chepngeno, Martin Korir, Marion Korir, Prudence Chepkemoi, Gibson Korir, Gerald Korir, John Collins Korir, Perpetua Chelangat, Carlos Kiptoo Korir and Isack Kipngetich Korir. He was son-in-law to Mr. Reuben Marindany and the late Christina Marindany of Kimase, Sotik. He was brother-in-law to Zeddy, Robert, Bernard, John, Jackline, Dennis and Geoffrey, as well as to Agnes Korir, Albina Korir, Christine Korir, Betty Korir, Frasicah Korir, Moureen Korir, Abigael Korir, Emily Korir, Josephine Korir, Regina Korir, and finally Clare Korir. . E A R L Y L I F E He was a devoted family man who was married to Daisy Korir and was blessed with three children, namely, Kevin Kipngetich Korir, Clare Cherotich (Maasai Mara University) and Brian Kibet (Grade 7, Sotin Academy). M A R R I A G E He began his primary education at Kipsimbol Primary School in the year 1981 and completed it in 1991. He then joined Kaplong Vocational Training College, where he did his craft artisan course (Building and Masonry). Thereafter, he worked in Litein town, Litein hospital for several years, where he gained tremendous experience in his field. His work was known for its excellence and was admired by many. He would go on to build several learning institutions and churches, including Kipsimbol Catholic Church and Kaplelach Catholic Church, as well as numerous individual homes and residential houses. C H R I S T I A N L I F E He was a member of St. Veronica Kipsimbol Catholic Church and was baptised on 3 May 1975 by Father Basil D. Pearson (Arap Sigilai) and confirmed on 10 June 1990. H E A L T H Charles enjoyed good health until April 2024 when he started ailing. He visited many hospitals complaining of abdominal pain. Subsequently, he underwent different treatments and surgeries, culminating in a major procedure at Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was admitted for more than a month before succumbing to his illness. In his final days, he became prayerful and rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. He noted bravely to those who interacted with him that he was grateful to God for giving him enough time to be reconciled to his Maker. He succumbed to his illness on the night of 14th April 2026. He will be dearly missed by many.
