1997 'Itaewon murder' suspect's extradition from US postponed again / YTN

The extradition of Arthur Patterson, the suspect in the 1997 "Itaewon murder case", to South Korea has been postponed again. The South Korean Ministry of Justice said on Tuesday that Patterson's repeated petition to the U.S. federal court to block the Korean prosecution's request for his extradition has resulted in the postponement. The court in California rejected his previous "habeas corpus" petition in 2013. Patterson is suspected of stabbing a 23-year-old university student, Cho Joong-Pil, to death in the bathroom of a Burger King in Itaewon, Seoul in April 1997.
