The Big SEKI Loop Hike: Day 1 of 6

Our adventures of hiking the southern half of the Big SEKI (Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks) Loop hike. This hike took 6 days and was 109 miles long. This occurred September of 2025. This is day 1 of 6. The night before, we camp at the Onion Valley Campground. On the morning of the first day, we start at the trailhead in Onion Valley, traverse over Kearsarge Pass, and descend to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) heading south into Vidette Meadows. Along the way, we stop at Shorty's Cabin.
