He never said “I love you,” but he didn’t need to — I see it now in everything he did. He died suddenly, and I never got to say goodbye. Now, I’m a father of two grown sons — one of them a father himself. And in the quiet moments, I think about the things I wish I’d done more of… the phone calls I didn’t make, the visits I delayed, the early mornings and sleepless nights that passed too quickly. This seat was built in my workshop — four simple parts, joined together with screws. But the real joy came later: working side by side with my son to install it in his home. That moment — the laughter, the shared focus — is what I’ll remember.
