Running the Pacific

Dave came over today and measured his machined trailing truck casting and finalized the dimensions for the trailing truck wheelset and journal boxes. He is slowly building a modified Little Engines Pacific, which will have the same modifications to the engine that I did - making it closer to a USRA heavy Pacific with fabricated cylinder block with inside admission piston valves, modifying the valve gear for inside admission, ball bearings on the lead and trailing truck, larger smokebox and boiler and larger tender. After taking measurements, we took a chance with the weather and ran the Pacific. This was Dave's first time running the Pacific and he ran several miles.
