The Preaching Ministry of Jesus

Returning to our series in Luke, this message looks at how Jesus began his ministry: preaching. His reputation spread across Galilee and the synagogue at Nazareth marvelled at his words, until familiarity turned their marvelling into mumbling and they rejected him. Working from the Isaiah 61 passage Jesus read that day, we consider what the Messiah was anointed to do and the good news he brought to the poor in spirit, the captives, the blind and the oppressed, and the warning that you can hear the best preaching there is and still miss him.
