Rejected by His Own

Continuing in Luke, this message picks up where the crowd at Nazareth turns on Jesus and asks what he had just said that made them want to throw him off a cliff. Using Elijah and the widow of Zarephath and Elisha and Naaman, Jesus confronts their unbelief and tells them God will take his message to those who will listen. We then turn to the rejection we face ourselves, particularly from family and those closest to us, and four practical steps: don’t be surprised by it, never compromise in love, remember God’s purpose in it, and be secure in your identity as a child of God.
