Monster and Mouse Go Camping — Reading Deborah Underwood and Jared Chapman

Pack your sleeping bag, because today's Read Along With Scott heads into the woods! We are reading Monster and Mouse Go Camping by Deborah Underwood, illustrated by Jared Chapman. Mouse is a good camper. Monster thinks camping sounds scary. But Mouse has promised lots of yummy food, and that is all Monster needs to hear. This reading includes: • A tiny mouse with very big camping plans • A big red monster with an even bigger appetite • A packing list that is missing something important • A camping trip that does not go at all according to plan As always, today's Read Along With Scott begins with a small index-card art ritual. For this reading, I made a Mouse collage in my handmade red-and-black frame — a little camper with big pink ears and a worried face, ready (or maybe not quite ready) for a night in the woods. This episode supports: • Prediction — what did Mouse forget to pack? • Sound words and vocabulary — GRUMBLE, piffle, and more • Social-emotional learning — trying new things, facing fears, and forgiving friends • Family storytime — giggles, big voices, and shared surprises Thank you for joining me for this grumbly, hungry, wonderfully unplanned camping adventure. #ReadAlongWithScott #MonsterAndMouse #DeborahUnderwood #JaredChapman #PictureBooks #ReadAloud
