What do we do when we’ve been waiting so long that we begin to wonder whether God has forgotten us? As we read and pray through Genesis 8:1–13, we come to four beautiful words: “But God remembered Noah.” After months inside the ark, surrounded by floodwaters and uncertainty, Noah may not have been able to see what God was doing—but God had not forgotten him. God sends a wind over the earth, and the waters begin to recede. The change does not happen all at once. The waters gradually decrease, the mountains begin to appear, and Noah waits and watches for signs of a new beginning. God’s remembering is not simply calling Noah to mind—it is God acting faithfully on behalf of the one He has promised to preserve. Noah’s story reminds us that God can be faithfully at work even when His work seems painfully slow. Today’s prayer moves from uncertainty and waiting toward renewed trust and hope—thanking God that He never forgets His people, asking for patience when His purposes unfold more slowly than we would like, and praying for eyes to recognize the small signs of restoration He may already be placing before us. 🕊️ Part of Praying Through Genesis — a Christian devotional and Bible study series exploring what each passage in Genesis reveals about God and learning to respond to His Word in prayer, one passage at a time. 📖 Genesis 8:1–13 🙏 Today’s prayer: “The God Who Remembers” New episodes released [SCHEDULE].
