Humble Us Lord

"Humble Us Lord" is a worship song about pride and grace — told through the stories of Nebuchadnezzar, David, Peter, Saul, the tax collector and the prodigal son — and the God who lifts up all who humble themselves before Him. A prayer for every man who has tried to stand in his own strength, and found that true strength comes only on his knees. "Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." — Philippians 2:5–8 "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you." — James 4:10 If this song speaks to you, or you're fighting your own pride today, share it with a brother — and let us know in the comments how we can pray for you. ────────── LYRICS Verse 1 An earthly king boasted loud, "By my mighty power!" he cried aloud. He raised himself, built with gold His earthly fame was soon brought low Then he knew the Most High reigns, And Heaven's King alone remains. Once he raised his eyes above, He praised the God of endless love. Pre-Chorus Every mountain, every crown, Every throne will soon bow down. Every ruler, every king, Praise Christ, the Holy King. Every power, every name, Will declare the Savior's reign. All creation joins and sings, Jesus Christ, the risen King. Chorus Humble us Lord, lest we fall. You're Creator, Lord of all. Change our hearts and break our pride Cast our selfish ways aside When we're weak, Your strength is shown. You alone deserve the throne. We will bow, make us your own Praise belongs to you alone Verse 2 David wept with a broken heart, Seeking mercy, a brand-new start. "Create in me a heart made new," He cried for mercy, Lord, to You. Peter wept when the rooster crowed, After denying his Lord and God. Christ restored him by the sea, With grace that set his spirit free. Pre-Chorus Every mountain, every crown, Every throne will soon bow down. Every ruler, every king, Praise Christ, the Holy King. Chorus Bridge Saul was blinded on the road, Until he met the risen Lord. The tax collector bowed in shame, God declared him born again The prodigal came home alone, Yet his father's love was shown With open arms, a brand new story God lifts the humble for His Glory Final Chorus Humble us Lord, lest we fall. You're Creator, Lord of all. Change our hearts and break our pride Cast our selfish ways aside From the ashes You restore. We will praise You evermore. Every heart and every king, Will bow before the King. Outro We lay our crowns before Your throne. You are God, and You alone. Holy, Holy, Holy is Your name. Forever we will praise and proclaim. ────────── Song by edeixen. Music created with Suno AI. Images created with Google Gemini.
