Treat Your parents well BUT HOW والدین سے حسن سلوک کب کیسے

"Treat your parents well" — this is one of the most emphasized commands in Islam, right after worshipping Allah alone. From the Qur'an 1. Surah Al-Isra 17:23-24 "And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them 'uff' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.'" Allah puts birr al-walidayn — dutifulness to parents — immediately after Tawheed. That shows how huge it is. 2. Surah Luqman 31:14 "And We have enjoined upon man concerning his parents... Be grateful to Me and to your parents." From the Hadees 1. Best deeds A man asked the Prophet ﷺ: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" He ﷺ replied: "Prayer on time." "Then what?" "Kindness to parents." "Then what?" "Jihad in the way of Allah." [Bukhari & Muslim] post-321091371258935784730 2. Paradise is at their feet "The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the father, and the anger of Allah is in the anger of the father." _"May his nose be rubbed in dust... the person whose parents, one or both, reach old age and he does not enter Paradise by serving them."_[Tirmidhi][Muslim] 3. Even if they’re non-Muslim Asma bint Abu Bakr asked about treating her mother who didn’t accept Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Yes, maintain ties with her." What "treating well" looks like practically *With words*: No "uff", no raising your voice, no snapping. Speak with softness and respect. *With actions*: Help without being asked. Call them. Visit them. Spend on them if they need it. *With du'a*: "Rabbirhamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera" — "My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small." *After they pass*: Make du'a for them, give charity on their behalf, keep ties with their relatives and friends. A beautiful reminder Imam Ibn al-Jawzi said: Don’t spoil your kids with everything so they become arrogant. The same applies in reverse — don’t make parents feel like a burden. Serve them while you can. Old age comes fast. Even the small things count: making tea, listening to the same story again, lowering your voice, smiling.
