#cleaningtips #amishtips You have a brown bottle of hydrogen peroxide under your bathroom sink, and it has sat there since the day you bought it for a scraped knee. Beside it stands a row of sprays you paid good money for, one for the shower, one for your shirts, one for the counter. Here is what is really going on. That bottle is mainly a cleaner, and it loses its strength when light and time get at it, or when you wipe it away too soon. Kept dark and given its time, it can do seven jobs around your house for about a dollar a quart. The answer is in this video. Today I show you the old way. In this video: • Keep the plain three percent peroxide in its brown bottle, out of the light, and write the day you open it on the cap • The cutting board: wash with soap first, spray until wet and leave it a full ten minutes • The baking sheet: baking soda and peroxide as a paste about like frosting, left two or three hours • The shower grout: soak ten or fifteen minutes, then scrub with an old toothbrush • The pink ring in the toilet bowl: about a cup of peroxide for half an hour • Blood on cloth: cold water first, then dab with peroxide until the foam comes up white • The yellow under the arms of a white shirt: a spoonful of baking soda, a spoonful of peroxide and a few drops of dish soap, left an hour • The gnats in your houseplants: one part peroxide to four parts water Chapters: 0:00 The bottle under your sink 0:56 How peroxide really works 1:42 The cuff at the washtub 3:21 What you need 3:49 1.
