THE POWER OF WORDS & THE POWER OF AGREEMENT What Are You Speaking—and What Have You Agreed With? Words matter. Some of us are still carrying words that were spoken over us years or even decades ago. Rejection, criticism, abuse, trauma, family dysfunction and painful relationships can leave behind more than memories—they can influence what we eventually begin to believe and say about ourselves. But what happens when someone else's words become your agreement? Tonight, on Soul Care & Trauma Recovery, we're going deeper into The Power of Words & The Power of Agreement. We'll examine: • Death and life are in the power of the tongue — Proverbs 18:21 • How words can wound or bring healing • How trauma can influence what we believe and speak • The difference between what someone said about you and what God says about you • How harmful words can become internal beliefs • The biblical principle of agreement • Binding, loosing and agreement — Matthew 18:18–20 • Speaking to the mountain — Mark 11:23–26 • Why Jesus connects faith, prayer and forgiveness • Gossip and the words we allow ourselves to receive • Breaking agreement with lies • Replacing false beliefs with biblical truth • Speaking life over yourself, your children and your family • Using our lips for praise — Hebrews 13:15 Anchor Scriptures Proverbs 18:21 • Proverbs 16:24 • Matthew 18:18–20 • Mark 11:23–26 We'll also examine Proverbs 12:6, 15:1, 15:26, 18:4, 26:22 and Hebrews 13:15. Here's one of the questions I want you to consider before we begin: What happened to you may be true—but is what you concluded about yourself because of what happened actually true?
