New Healing Chapter (+ Harry Potter Surprises) for 7-Year-Old Cancer Warrior | George to the Rescue

For seven-year-old Izzie, creativity, dancing, and spending time with the people she loves are an important part of being a kid. After facing an acute T cell lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosis at just four years old and enduring years of treatment, Izzie and her family are ready for a fresh chapter. On this heartwarming episode of 'George to the Rescue,' George Oliphant meets Izzie, her parents Christina and Roger, and the people who have supported their family along the way. With the help of the GTTR team, Curated Home, B+ Foundation, Peace Love Home NJ, and more the family’s home receives a thoughtful refresh designed around their needs — with special attention given to creating a bedroom that reflects Izzie's vivacious personality and interests. The project began with organizing and decluttering, making space for a more functional and comfortable residence. Izzie's bedroom is reimagined as a creative space where she can read, make art, display her jewelry, and enjoy her favorite things. A new wallpaper accent wall, fresh paint, updated furniture, a cozy reading nook, and dedicated craft storage help bring the design together. The team also refreshed Christina and Roger's bedroom with new curtains, artwork, and mirrors. Beyond the home improvements, the family got the opportunity to create some magical new memories together, including a sunny Circle Line boat trip where Izzie got to see the Statue of Liberty and NYC harbor and a visit to Broadway's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, where Izzie got to meet members of the cast, including Draco Malfoy himself...Tom Felton! However, the most meaningful moment of this renovation project perhaps arrived when Izzie laid eyes on her new bedroom. Surrounded by family, friends, and the B+ Foundation community, she got to enjoy a stunning, colorful, and toy-filled space that was no longer filled with medicine bottles and reminders of her painful childhood journey but instead designed around the joy of being a child. And for Christina and Roger? They also received a well-deserved serene bedroom makeover but for them the transformation went beyond the surprises and stunning aesthetics; it represented a new healing chapter for their family. Overall, Izzie's story is a sweet reminder of the difference compassion, community, and a helping hand can make during life's most difficult moments.
